Pyridine, an organic compound, is a six-membered heterocyclic compound containing a nitrogen heteroatom. It can be regarded as a compound in which one (CH) of the benzene molecule is replaced by N, so it is also called nitrogen benzene, a colorless or slightly yellow liquid with a foul smell. Pyridine and its homologs exist in bone tar, coal tar, gas, shale oil, and petroleum.
Pyridine can be used industrially as a denaturant, a dye assistant, and a raw material for the synthesis of a series of products (including medicines, disinfectants, dyes, etc.).
Application
1. Used in the manufacture of vitamins, sulfa drugs, pesticides and plastics;
