Addison Verkabelungssystem, entstanden als Netzwerk-Verkabelungssystem-Lösung von Caledonian Cables Ltd in Sussex, England vermarktet. Caledonian Cable wurde 1978 gegründet und trat ursprünglich als OEM-Hersteller von Verkabelungssystemen auf den Markt.
Bis 1990s war Caledonian ausschließlich ein Kabel-OEM-Hersteller und Patchcord-Vorkonfektionär für die renommierten Kabelunternehmen in Europa.
1997 trat Caledonian mit Komplettlösungen unter der Marke Addison für die Twisted-Pair-Netzwerkumgebung in den Markt für Datenverkabelungen ein. 1998 entwickelte sich Caledonian zu einem der vielversprechenden Hersteller von OEM-Verkabelungslösungen in Europa.
